What is a Content Management System?
Content Management Systems (CMS) are applications which allow non-technical users to easily maintain a website. SIMS is a web-based Content Management System that provides you with administration tools to easily add/edit web page content, insert multimedia files, create/edit navigation, and create users, set user securities and track user logs. All with the click of a button from any location with Internet access.

What is included with a SIMS license?
Your SIMS license includes; your website template design, hosting fees, email accounts, version upgrades, technical support and a 3 hour introductory training session. Can I use my existing Web site design with SIMS?
Yes. If you are happy with the current design of your Web site we can incorporate it into a SIMS template.

Do I need to know HTML or a programming language?
No. SIMS was designed with the non-technical user in mind. The SIMS tools and functionality are similar to the popular word processors.

Can I edit the HTML of my Web site?
Yes. The SIMS interface allows you to edit the HTML in the content areas of your Web site.

Do I need to install any software or plug-ins?
No. SIMS is entirely web based and remotely hosted so you do not have to install any software. However, you will need a current version on Internet Explorer to access the administration features.

How does SIMS WYSIWYG editing work?
SIMS takes advantage of Internet Explorer 5+'s built-in WYSIWYG editing capabilities. You must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or above installed to run the SIMS Administration interface. However, people viewing your Web site do not need Internet Explorer. Your site can be viewed in any browser.

Do I need to have an FTP program to upload files?
No. SIMS has a built in upload tool and a Media Library where images, documents, HTML files and videos are stored. These media files are easily inserted into your Web page with the click of a button. Also, you can preview the images and videos before adding them to your Web page.

I want other people to add and edit content on my Web site. Is this possible?
Yes, The Administration tools allow you to create and specify permissions for each user. For example, if you want one user to maintain the calendar on your Web site, then that user will be only be able to access the calendar of the administration area and not other areas. You also create Site Managers that have access to the entire Web site.

How many users can I create?
SIMS allows you to have unlimited users for your Web site. However, we recommend that you limit the number of Site Managers to one or two users.
