Accessibility FAQ

Is your office accessible?

Yes.  Our office, located on the third floor of 91 Cumberland Street South in Thunder Bay is accessible.  The building has an elevator, wheelchair ramp and the washrooms are accessible by wheelchair

Do you have an Accessible Customer Service Standard in place?

Yes.  Our Accessible Customer Service Standard outlines requirements such as the development of policies & procedures, how to communicate with people with disabilities, provision of training for staff, service animals, support persons, and the feedback process.

Can I use my own assistive devices when I come to your office for a meeting?

Yes.  People with disabilities may use their own personal assistive devices.   If possible, please let us know what assistive devices you will be using prior to your visit and we will take measures to ensure we can accommodate you as well as familiarize ourselves with these particular devices.

Are service animals allowed in your office?

Yes.  People with disabilities may use their service animals in all parts of our premises that are open to the public.  

Can my support person accompany me to meetings at your office?

Yes.  People with disabilities can access their disability-related support person while using our services.

In situations where confidential matters will be discussed, the support person may be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement or the role of the support person may need to be agreed to in advance of the meeting.
